In 1978, the MARAUDER hull was introduced. The only hull design of its kind. The MARAUDER hull in a sponsoned (modified) V-hull that provides a drier ride and unmatched stability. 1980 marked the development of the TUFFY RAMPAGE hull. A deeper, sponsoned V-hull design built specificallt to handle bigger water. the ride, handling, and positioning ability of the RAMPAGE hull made it THE choice of professional as well as the weekend fisherman. Throughout the 80's TUFFY built a reputation as the premier multi-species fishign boat, a reputation that still stands today.

Big water fishermen and walleye tournament pros needed more boat. In 1993 TUFFY answered with the introduction of the RENEGADE hull. A larger, deeper V-hull series of boats. Bigger and stronger, made for really big water fishermen, the RENEGADE TRUE V-hull series fast became the choice of tournament pros and big water fishermen.

From the tri-hull to the DEEP-V RENEGADE, every TUFFY is designed and engineered to meet standards set by the NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association), standards stiffer than that of the U.S. Coast Guard. Built by hand by craftsmen, each keel is layered with KEVLAR, a material so strong it is the main component of bulletproof vests. The TUFFY lamination process yields an exceptionally high glass to resin ratio for the strongest fiberglass composition available. Every layer of TUF-CORE, fiberglass, and KEVLAR is hand rolled to create the most rugged, stiff hull on the market. All stringers are completely encased in fiberglass, all floors and components are made of fiberglass and fiberglass composite material. The TUFFY finish is the finest high-quality, high-gloss Gel Coat available.
